Olympic Medalist Freestyle Program

Elite-Freestyle-Program-2026.jpg

Sebastian Rivera’s Freestyle Program has been a huge success, establishing itself as a top-tier developmental camp for Freestyle Wrestling. Over the course of the program, athletes of all ages and skill levels made tremendous strides, growing technically, mentally, and physically on the mat.

The focus was clear: build dominant wrestlers by mastering the key positions that matter most at every level of freestyle competition. Each session emphasized high-level fundamentals and situational awareness, with particular attention to:

•    Positioning – Developing strong, stable base control and learning how to dictate the pace and direction of a match.

•    Chest Lock – Teaching athletes how to effectively counter attacks and turn defense into scoring opportunities.

•    Leg Defense – Solidifying technique against single and double legs, with smart re-attacks and counters.

•    Crack Down – Breaking down and finishing from critical scramble positions.

•    Seatbelt Whizzer – Understanding leverage and using it to control and escape from upper-body ties.

•    Par Terre – Both offense and defense, with a deep dive into turns, transitions, and guts that can win tight matches.

“With Fargo just weeks away this was a great 10-weeks of progress, setting our athletes up for positive experiences in Fargo. Watching the athletes grow in confidence and execution was one of the most rewarding parts of the experience. It’s clear that this program filled an important gap in high-level freestyle training and helped bridge the gap for both Youth and High School Competition and Elite Match-time Performance.”  - Sebastian “Seabass” Rivera

We're just getting started—and we're excited to continue developing talent through Sebastian’s Elite Wrestling Program for many years to come. The future of freestyle is bright. Stay Tuned!
